I am a newly retired Ontario Certified Teacher with over 30 years of teaching experience, the past 15 years in Special Education. I specialize in working with students with special needs including Autism, Attention Deficits, Learning Disabilities and Mild Intellectual Disabilities. I use a variety of strategies to support students improve in reading, writing and mathematics.

While creating an engaging, warm and welcoming environment, I provide individualized programming and instruction to meet the learner’s needs. I am also available for consultation with Individualized Education Plans.

I am a psychotherapist who also has a passion for teaching. Challenges in learning are often internalized and later seen as low self-esteem, a sense of inadequacy, or fear of trying. I help students draw on strengths to support their learning, building confidence and problem-solving skills. Sessions slow things down - focusing on students' unique thought processes when working through problems. The focus is not on the wrong answer, but understanding the process which has lead to that answer.
